Why release products with such major flaws??????

Very disappointed with this product - it worked for about 2 minutes out of the box then has failed to charge. On reading online this is a widespread problem and one that has NOT been fixed with this model. The documentation is equally pathetic - the general consensus on how to fix this revolves around taking it apart - removing the battery pack - plugging it all back together when it starts to charge and then rinse and repeat until you get lucky. Not something you should really have to do with a brand new piece of kit. Cisco should do better than this......

Fragile, repair service costs.

I got a refurbished flip cam. the lens was defective. Per the seller's website, it wouldn't accept a return. I called tech support for Flip, said they would repair it for $70. I said it was under warranty. They told me to contact Amazon and the seller and return it.
I emailed a private repair service, they said it wasn't worth their labor cost to fix it.
In the end, I did email the seller and seller agreed to accept a return.
The whole process with Flip was disheartening, and you can Google various complaints about them.

Sucks

First time using the video camera, noticed the battery was already run down 1/4 of the way. Recorded maybe about 5 minutes of video and battery is basically dead already. Tried to re-charge, won't charge. Awesome.

HD Mino 2nd Generation

I like this!! Easy to use; Easy to Carry, Good quality shootings, and a good sound. Also, it looks good! I particularly like the ease of use while on the go-just point, shoot and move on!-no fumbling around trying to figure out features; it has good low lighting and really good day time video. I recommend it! Oh yeah! it's not bulky-it's almost "apple" like-it's really classy looking. Feels like I have something really special.

Do not buy this tripod

This tripod has one very limited use. Static shots on a flat surface. It will not work to follow action. Panning with this tripod is a disaster. Forget about tilting up or down. In short, it will not do what you're hoping it will do, which is keep your shots steady when you're actually using the camera. The readysteady is a much better option.

This tripod is a must if you own a flip video! With it's flexible legs, you can basically put it anywhere and take a video from anywhere. We have been using our Flip video with tripod to video tape our tap dancing classes and the videos have been amazing!

Perfect little tripod

This is the perfect little tripod for the Flip line of cameras. It's just as portable as the camera and easy to take with you. It's flexible enough to make it simple to level the camera and sturdy enough that you don't have to worry about knocking the camera over. You can even wrap the legs around certain rails and fences.

It's the PERFECT companion to the Flip cameras.

I returned the flip video becasue it would not record for more than a minute. It would then stop and go into step mode.

Don't use with Flip

I recently bought a Flip Ultra HD which is nice except for the lack of image stabilization. So I figured a small tripod was in order. The problem with this product is that it is too flimsy to work with the Flip Video unit. The Flip makes this tripod much to top heavy which makes it topple over with even the slightest of vertical adjustments. Luckily it works fine for a small Sony cybershot that I have had for some time. If you are looking for a mini-tripod for any Flip Video recorder, I highly suggest you find one that is slightly larger and heavier to stabilize the Flip unit.

Horrible Customer Service

Flip Customer Service is awful. Had an issue with Flip out of warranty due to battery life. When I contact customer service, I was told there was nothing they could do without me spending $80 to send it in for service. I have only used device for total of 30 minutes in the year I owned it. When asked what caused the issue was told that I did not charge the battery monthly as advised. When asked where this is written the agent told me it was "manufactor knowledge". Funny this knowledge is not shared in the specific instructions of the camera.
Won't buy another product again from them!

NO STARS -- Never worked

I ordered this when Amazon had a "special deal" for it. It was a special deal, all right. I paid $130, and the thing never worked. Unfortunately, the first couple of times I tried it, I didn't have time to troubleshoot, so I just put it aside. When I did get a chance to really try to get it working (checking the flip website etc), it still didn't work. And it was outside Amazon's return window, so now I've got something that never worked even once, for which I paid $130. Great. Is it possible to give NO STARS?

GOOD LITTLE POCKET CAMCORDER

We have had many camcorders in the past, but for size, this one gives fairly good video and it's extremely easy to use. The software that comes with it is easy to install. The two drawbacks are that in low light it's very "grainy" and you also have to move very s-lo-w-l-y, or else when viewed back on a tv or when burned onto a DVD, it will almost make you dizzy. For the size though you can't beat it.

Decent product but think the HD version I used to have took better quality video. Overall I am still sold on the flip video and ease of use. Small in size, no cords, batteries to replace, software on device, can take still shots from the footage, and so easy to edit and make video's.

Great on the go!

The last thing I need in my bag is a camcorder the size and weight of a brick. That is why I only have video of my tots at home. Yeah yeah, call me lazy or whatever but it just is not convenient. For Christmas, my sweet hubby and even sweeter daddy to his girls, got me this Flip Video camcorder. It records in HD, easy to download to your computer (with a USB plug) and is smaller and lighter than your phone!! It is 3.3 oz and is 4" x 2". The quality is incredible, so much better than converting the HD tapes into a digital file, which is annoyingly time consuming to do. I bring this everywhere now and on our recent trip to Legoland, I got video of my 3 year old on her first roller coaster ride! It is super easy to use, there is a big red button for record and stop. Each time you take a video it is saved as its own file so it is really easy to organize and find the clip you're looking for. Oh, did I forget to mention that this is super well priced?

Awesome little camera, but...

I have had the Flip MinoHD for a little over a year now and it has been a great little camera. Although it does not feature any "steady-cam" capabilities like most larger camcorders, the picture quality is still great. Also, while I often wished the camera would have a greater zoom, it still did the job of getting closer than I could have to many events. Based on my experiences until yesterday (like I said, over a year of use), I would give the product five stars all the way.

But... after I uploaded some video yesterday, I left the Flip plugged into the computer for charging, watched the white light blink for a few seconds and then started working on something else on the computer. About an hour later, my Mac shows me a window that says (basically), "Please don't unplug peripherals until you eject them first." It was referring to my Flip. I had not unplugged it, but it was no longer listed as a device. I unplugged it and tried to turn it on. Not a blink anywhere. Needless to say, after plugging it in various laptops and such, leaving it plugged in for hours at a time, checking the boards to see if anyone else had this problem (which many have) and trying every possible fix out there, I contacted their tech support via chat. The nice person confirmed that I had a dead Flip.

Seriously? A year-old camera? It was just out of the warranty period so... tough luck.

This is why I give the product two stars. I'm not alone in this. Look to see how many people have actually had to use their warranty to replace their Flips. Look to see how many people had these issues right after the warranty period. Yes, it's a great camera, but only while it lasts.

A $200 camera? Really?

Nice simple portable video camera

I got this camera to film my kids who are always doing something cute. The best thing about this video camera is the size and easy of use. I can very quickly pull it out and start filming. The price was right at under $200.

The only issue is the battery life. If I take it on a trip and don't have a computer top charge it, it seems to die before I even fill the memory. This is will some replaying. There is not way to charge it without USB, so if you are on vacation and don't have your computer, it isn't ideal.

Besides that, I love this camera for how easy and affordable it is. It is in my pocket where ever I go when my kids are with me.

Flip is great while it last, then it's over.

This is my second Flip Mino. It is the perfect mini-camcorder except for the fact that it cannot be serviced once the battery dies. Good thing I discovered the Square Trade warranty!

Two down in a year

Bought this product for my wife as a birthday present. It died within three and half months. Sent it back to the company for a replacement - that went without a hitch. However...it has now died again - 12 months later. It won't turn on . I have tried resetting it per customer service - to no avail... Time to try a different company.

It wasn't all that great to begin with but now it doesn't even work properly. It records horizontal bars over the picture. In short, it's useless.

While it worked, it wasn't all that great. Picture quality was so-so. I find other products just as easy to use. I'd recommend a Sony cybershot with camera and video and a much larger view screen (Mino screen is tiny). For that matter, all you have to do with most cameras is put the storage card in a memory reader ( e.g., SanDisk ImageMate All-in-1 Flash Memory Card Reader) and connect it to your computer and it will read the pictures.

In short, Mino has a terrible view finder and mediocre picture. To add insult to injury, it does not last long.

This product took forever to get to me! I paid for standard shippping of 5 to 7 days and it arrived 21 days later. When it finally did arrive it wasn't what I expected it was small and not even big enough to go around a arm rest on a chair. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

I don't know what I did before this tripod. The three independent moving legs allows you to place your camera pretty much anywhere. No need to pay for the name brand, this is just as good for a fraction of the price.

This is a compact little gem. It allows the Flip to balance and remain steady on all kinds of even and uneven surfaces. If you bought a Flip in the first place, you are probably looking for small size/convenience/automatic settings over the myriad of options you would find in a larger camera. This fits the bill. I am traveling right now and this camera has come in handy quite a bit. It's easy to carry around, simple to operate and plugs right into your computer for easy drop off. There is not an external memory option on this camera but it the amount of time you get with internal memory is plenty of room for short or long videos. It's a good camera.

Nice little video camer, however to make large movies you have to purchase the software from VIDO for $19.95. Even then, software is
inadequate, hard to use and very slow when processin save movie to DVD.

I bring this for vacation and special occasions... I love it so much I sometimes leave it to my pocket book :)
It's very light, quality is good. I tried it charging using MAC and the vado start to act funny like it won't turn on, it only happened one time though.

Quit working after a year

We liked this product while it worked. We used it to record clips of our first child. However, after a year of light use it started freezing. It doesn't work at all any more and won't even turn on. We missed the warranty by one week. Obviously, this is not a quality product.

Way flimsier than I expected for the money. Was very hard to fit around the camcorder. It does do the job but not very protective for the camcorder.

Don't buy this!

This lightweight peice of crap was over priced...I had to pay $[...] for shipping because of the catagory it fell under (accessories) so ended up screwed on both ends. The case that came with the camera, although only a cloth drawstring bag is much better than this dud by comparison.
By the time you squeeze the camera in the pouch you have pulled muscles in your wrist and god forbid you want to capture a moment of your life on this camera and its locked in this pouches death grip. Obviously I do not recommend this product, unless you are into S&M.
